About Blair

A small life, rooted in the Sierra.

I was born and raised in San Marcos, California, then moved to Lake Tahoe in my late 20s. I spent 10 years in Tahoe and the past five years in Genoa, Nevada—15 years total learning how much the outdoors can shape a life.

This vision has really been taking shape for more than five years, beginning with the way I started placing my daughter into beds of flowers for photographs and memories. One of the first was a wide meadow of Shasta daisies in Telluride, when she was just nine months old. I still carry that image with me: a little girl surrounded by flowers, and the feeling that these places can hold a whole season of a family’s life.

Kerr Bloom started with a simple vision: grow wildflowers along our fence line. I enjoyed them so much that, when the garden gave us more than we could hold, I began making bouquets for colleagues, neighbors, and friends. An especially joyful zinnia patch helped turn that first idea into something I wanted to keep sharing.

Whenever I can, I choose perennials—flowers that return year after year. I love the idea of building a garden with a memory, one season growing into the next, so the work we do now keeps giving back later.

We also wanted a home where our children could play safely, and where we could one day grow some of our own food and cut down on the pesticides around us. We have always loved being outdoors. I’ve found that putting my hands in the soil is the best therapy—and the best way to begin understanding what it means to grow something, live naturally, and prioritize the little time we have.

I also bring more than 20 years in the wedding and event industry, working closely with clients and learning the quiet craft behind a good experience: listen carefully, plan ahead, make room for the unexpected, and keep getting better. Time-blocking an event and timing a seed start are not so different. Both ask for patience, preparation, and trust in the season you’re in.

My former event-planning and hospitality work deepened that understanding: the details matter, people remember how a place made them feel, and the best experiences are built with care long before anyone arrives. I carry those lessons into Kerr Bloom.

There is so much I want to give back through growing flowers and food our family can actually use. We can’t grow everything, but we can grow what we love and use the most—and share what’s left with the people around us.

As the garden grows, I imagine opening up seasonal opportunities for couples, families, weddings, and anyone who wants to slow down inside a living landscape—to use the flowers as a backdrop for photographs, celebrations, and memories made in the garden. That could mean engagement and bridal portraits, family photos, maternity sessions, back-to-school pictures, summer sessions, and all the little milestones worth remembering. Come visit historic Genoa, Nevada, wander through our flower fields, and capture a special moment or two while you’re here.

I’m grateful for wonderful connections with photographers, florists, and so many venue options throughout the Carson Valley and South Lake Tahoe. I hope Kerr Bloom can become part of those celebrations—offering a place for bridal portraits, engagement and pre-wedding photographs, and eventually fresh-cut flowers for the wedding day itself.

Kerr Bloom is a place for that practice: flowers, seeds, garden notes, and small goods made with care from our corner of the Sierra.
